Dark Harbour Dulse is considered world-class quality, leaving Grand Manan the dulse capital of the world. 95% of the worlds wild dulse is harvested on Grand Manan Island, Canada. 

Other seaweed companies have tried to farm dulse, but they can not replicate the geography of the Island. On the western side high cliffs shade the intertidal zone protecting dulse from bright sunlight during the morning. "Dark Harbour dulse" is darker, thicker and more flavourful than dulse growing/farmed anywhere else in the world.

All our harvesters for Dark Harbour Dulse Inc. are local harvesters, born and raised on the Island. Our team is passionate and committed to letting the world know where the worlds best dulse actually comes from: Dark Harbour.

Unlike other dulse companies, we actually go out and harvest our own products in the wild first hand. Us harvesters, like our ancestors, use sustainable harvesting methods (hand-harvesting) to ensure our seaweed will be passed down generations to generations. So our Island can continue to supply the world with the famous Dark Harbour Dulse.

We understand the importance of keeping the dulse tradition alive on our Island. It has been apart of our culture since 1875, and we will continue that tradition for years to come. We are the harvesters.
